Huddle is sculptural basketry comprising three baskets woven simultaneously and growing through each other in a single, continuous act of making. Through ‘scalloming’ and ‘fitching’, two of the most demanding techniques in the basketmaker’s repertoire, the boundaries between each basket dissolve entirely. The result is both skeletal and substantial: light and airy in its open structure, yet commanding in its presence.
