Fraoch Mór translates from Gaelige (Irish) as Big Heather; Froach is also an Irish Gaelic word for fury or fierceness. An apt name for the beautifully tactile basket, handwoven by Annemarie O-Sullivan.

The heather, an unlikely and unforgiving material, has been traditionally used in treeless areas of Ireland and Scotland. Annemarie comments that the heather ‘tears her hands’ as she tames the wild material.
