English Burr Oak Stick Chair

This chair references the traditional stick chair form, reinterpreted in English burr oak. Handmade, it retains the familiar upright stance and spindle construction associated with the vernacular design, while introducing the distinctive grain and natural variation of burr oak. The process tooling marks have been left on the surface of the wood throughout the piece and the surfaces have been charred into a deep black. The chair has been wire brushed to expose the texture of the grain.
